Maxim Medical to Establish New Allen County Operations in Indiana

CHURUBUSCO, Ind. -- Maxim Medical Services Inc., a medical equipment installation and repair firm, will expand its operations here, creating 51 new jobs by 2012.

The company, which installs services and resells surgical lighting and imaging equipment, will invest more than $1.6 million to expand its distribution operations and establish a light manufacturing center in an existing 50,000 square-foot facility in Churubusco, 16 miles northwest of Fort Wayne. The larger facility will enable Maxim Medical Services to realize its projected annual revenue of $20 million by fourth quarter 2012.

Maxim, which currently employs nearly 20 associates in LaOtto, Ind., plans to begin hiring additional manufacturing and repair associates in the first quarter of 2010 after moving into the new facility.

Established in 2003, Maxim Medical Services originated as an installer and repairer of surgical technology systems. The company has grown to include an equipment refurbishing and resell operation and anticipates bringing additional manufacturing and powder coating operations in-house by the end of 2010.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Maxim Medical Services Inc. up to $175,000 in performance-based tax credits and $30,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. Allen County will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

Maxim Medical Services, Inc. is a supplier of surgical lighting and imaging equipment installation and repair. The Fort Wayne, Ind.-based company also refurbishes and resells used lighting equipment. Maxim, which employs nearly 20 associates contracts with hospitals and health care providers throughout North and South America and the Caribbean.
