This expands iWatt's presence in China, where the company opened an engineering center in Shenzhen in June 2010 to support the growing number of Asian manufacturers designing solid-state lighting (SSL), and cell phone and tablet PC power adapters.

To staff the Beijing and Tianjin centers, iWatt has acquired an existing engineering group with significant power management IC design experience from a company in Tianjin. These IC designers bring skills to expedite iWatt's move into several new high-growth markets.
