(Hebron, Kentucky) – Food manufacturer Wornick Company is looking to expand and may move here from Cincinnati to get the job done.
The company – which was recently given preliminary approval by the state for $3.6 million in tax incentives – is proposing to lease a 600,000 square foot facility in Hebron. The move would bring 400 existing jobs and create 300 more jobs, according to filings with the state. The company plans to invest $35 million in land, facility and equipment costs.
Currently, Wornick operates out of three buildings in Cincinnati. Company officials did not return messages seeking comments and additional information.
Wornick provides military feeding systems, contract manufacturing services and emergency prepared meal kits for consumers, business and government agencies. The company is majority owned by DDJ Capital Management and AIG is a minority owner, according to state filings.
