(Indianapolis, Indiana) - Rolls-Royce has landed an $80 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide spare engines and parts for the Lockheed Martin C-130J military transport aircraft.
The common core AE engine line is produced by Rolls-Royce and manufactured in Indianapolis. The C-130J is used by the Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, the Royal Norwegian Air Force and the Indian Air Force.
Rolls-Royce, a provider of power systems and services for use on land, at sea and in the air, operates in four global markets civil aerospace, defense aerospace, marine and energy. The company has a total of 54,000 gas turbines in service worldwide and has a broad customer base comprising 600 airlines, 4,000 corporate and utility aircraft and helicopter operators, 160 armed forces, more than 2,000 marine customers including 70 navies, and energy customers in 120 countries.
