(Columbus, Ohio) - Mattress maker Spring Air has abruptly shut down its facility here and filed for bankruptcy protection. The move comes after the company's primary financing source recently pulled its credit line, according to a notice filed with the state of Ohio.
About 70 workers in Columbus will be affected. The company says it will be liquidating assets as part of the bankruptcy process but didn't give any further details.
Officials from Spring Air could not be reached for comment.
Several weeks ago, the company announced it would close plants in Phoenix and St. Louis and move its corporate headquarters from the Chicago area to Tampa, Florida.
