(Kendallville, Indiana) - Taylor Made Group, a manufacturer of original equipment and aftermarket products, plans to expand its operations here and double its 50-person workforce in the next two years.
The company - which makes windshields for marine equipment manufacturers - will invest more than $700,000 to relocate its Springfield, Tennessee heavy equipment windshield manufacturing operation to the Kendallville plant, which sits about 40 miles north of Ft. Wayne.
Taylor Made will begin hiring additional machine operators in mid-2009 following the company's retooling to manufacture windshields for heavy machinery, according to a news release. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Taylor Made Group up to $275,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $35,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The city will also provide a tax abatement.
Gloversville, New York-based Taylor Made Group includes Taylor Made Products, Taylor Made Systems, Taylorbrite LLC, Taylor Made Glass Systems, Taylor Made Overseas LLC, Trend Marine Products Ltd. and Water Bonnet Mfg., Inc. The Group operates 14 facilities in the United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. It employs more than 1,500 associates.
