(Indianapolis, Indiana) – Rolls-Royce plans to add 100 machinists at its military aircraft engine manufacturing operation here because of an uptick in demand.
Company officials say as part of the recruitment effort, they will hold a job fair on December 13 at the Rolls-Royce UAW Training Center. Rolls-Royce will only consider those with at least a year experience in operating lathes, grinders, mills, drills or other complex machining centers.
The company employs more than 4,000 in Indianapolis and is the largest Rolls-Royce manufacturing site in North America, according to its website. The work there includes the design, development and manufacture of things such as F136 engines for the Joint Strike Fighter, AE 1107C engines used in the V-22 tiltrotor aircraft, AE 2100 engines used in the Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules tactical aircraft and Model 250 engines used in half the world's light single- and twin-engine helicopters.
