(Westlake, Ohio) – VSM Sewing Inc. will close its facility here and put 119 people out of work. In a notice to the state, parent company SVP Worldwide said the first layoffs will start January 2 and all employees who will not be retained by VSM will be gone by April 30.

VSM is the U.S headquarters, training facility and distribution center for Husqvarna Viking sewing machines and other sewing products, according to the company’s website. The notice to the state said the company is consolidating operations, but did not give more detail.
