(Anderson, Indiana) - Hy-Tech Machining Systems will move to a bigger facility and add workers here in this central Indiana city. The company recently purchased a plant once occupied by General Motors for $425,000.
Hy-Tech – which designs, builds, repairs, and retrofits industrial machinery – has ten workers but told city officials it plans to add 50 to 100 employees within five years. The former GM site is 240,000-square-feet and sits on more than 22 acres. Owners Stan and Teresa Lay said they intend to demolish the front portion of the property, ultimately using about 130,000 square feet of the building, according to a news release from the city.
The plant is located at 2900 E. Scatterfield Road, and was known as Plant 18. It is one of several properties donated to the city by GM. The City of Anderson is also working with Coldwell Banker Real Estate to market former General Motors parcels throughout Anderson.
Hy-Tech’s current facility is at 3400 E. Lynn Street. For more information about Hy-Tech Machining visit http://www.htmachines.com.
