(Tipton, Indiana) - Aleris International Inc. has permanently shuttered its specification alloys facility here, which has sat idle since March 30.
Production has been transferred to other Aleris facilities in North America, according to a news release posted to the company’s website. Prior to idling production, the facility employed about 55 people.
Aleris International manufactures aluminum rolled products and extrusions, does aluminum recycling and specification alloy production. Based in the Cleveland, Ohio suburb of Beachwood, the company operates over 40 production facilities in North America, Europe, South America and Asia, and employs approximately 8,400.
