(Cincinnati, Ohio) – Commercial printing company SpringDot has acquired two divisions of Steinhauser of Newport, Kentucky.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SpringDot picked up the commercial printing and specialty finishing business of Steinhauser, which will continue to operate its remaining packaging print solutions division, according to a joint news release.

Both companies have made major investments over the last several years.

“This is a strategic decision that enables us to invest significantly in the largest growth portion of our business,” said Tara Steinhauser Halpin, president of Steinhauser. “There are many reasons why we have been able to stay in business for more than 100 years. One of them is our ability to adapt to change, and changes in the marketplace.” She and her brother, vice president Trevor Steinhauser, are co-owners of the East Fourth Street company.

“We see this as an incredible opportunity,” said John Deutsch, SpringDot president and chief executive. “We have considered acquiring various companies over our history of serving the Greater Cincinnati business community. Perhaps none, however, shares as much of the same background and history in the business with us as does Steinhauser.”

Since 2002, SpringDot has also added digital printing and fulfillment divisions.

Both companies opened in the early 1900s.

A key element of the deal involved SpringDot signing top Steinhauser salesman Jim Haus, the news release said. For more information about SpringDot visit http://www.springdot.com/. For more information about Steinhauser visit http://www.steinhauserinc.com/
