Indiana’s CTS Signs $13 Million Deal to Supply Japanese Automaker

(Elkhart, Indiana) - CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS) signed a deal with a major Japanese automotive maker worth up to $13 million over five years.

According to a news release, CTS Automotive Products, a division of CTS, will supply electronic throttle control accelerator pedal modules that will be used on a popular family vehicle sold in North America. The pedals will be built in one of CTS’ North America plants with the first deliveries starting in early 2010.

“This new pedal program represents an additional win from a key customer for a different vehicle platform and was made possible by CTS achieving quality and delivery goals on existing business from this distinguished OEM,” the release says. “This award will mark the third platform for CTS in North America from this customer.”

CTS recently announced it signed production contracts for the same type of module with two new Chinese customers. Those deals are worth up to a combined $14 million over five years.

CTS Automotive Products designs, tests and manufactures automotive sensors, accelerator pedal modules, actuators and subsystems. The company manufactures automotive and related products in Elkhart, Indiana; Toronto, Canada; Glasgow, Scotland; Ostrava, Czech Republic; Matamoros, Mexico; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; and Zhongshan, China.
