WEST CHESTER, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IONX LLC, the telematics technology company of Amsted Rail, has acquired Salco Technologies LLC, a telematics provider for leading chemical shippers and a wholly owned subsidiary of Salco Products Inc. Salco Technologies’ product lines and operations will be fully integrated into IONX’s West Chester, Pa.-based organization by January 2009.

The acquisition of Salco Technologies extends IONX’s reach into the chemical shipping industry. Going forward, IONX and its parent company Amsted Rail will provide complete sales, service, and research and development support for both the IONX Edge™ and Salco EverSee2 asset monitoring systems. The transaction includes a long-term collaboration agreement with Salco Products to ensure its customers experience a seamless transition to IONX.
