(Cincinnati, Ohio) - Mechanical Finishing Inc. has inked a deal to add Viking Corp. surface cleaning and prep machines to its portfolio.

“This gives us a stronger presence in the shot peening and blasting market,” said Jerry Stenger, president and owner of Mechanical Finishing, who hopes to add more blasting company product lines in the next few months.

In addition to Viking products and components, the company distributes other lines of tumbling equipment and washer products and offers equipment service. Mechanical manufactures a line of soaps and rust inhibitors, as well as used and refurbished equipment. They also offer contract services such as metal finishing, deburring and parts cleaning.

“If our customers choose to do the work in-house and they need a machine that we can’t build here, through our relationships with companies like Viking we want to be able to provide them with the right equipment,” Stenger said. “And we’ll continue to offer the services that we’ve always done in case our customers want to subcontract those. We’ve probably got one of the largest wheel blasting capacities in the area.”

Mechanical Finishing, which Stenger opened in 1992, serves a variety of industries including auto, aerospace, appliance, energy and medical. The company has about 20 employees and operates a 40,000-square-foot facility.
