Heavy Machinery Supplier to Locate New Distribution and Support Center in Indianapolis

(Indianapolis, Indiana) - ZPS America, LLC., a distributor and repairer of heavy machinery, announced today it will establish its headquarters and distribution center here, creating up to 25 new jobs by 2013.

The importer, distributor and repairer of computer numerical control (CNC) heavy machinery for automotive manufacturers and machine shops throughout the Midwest will invest $2.2 million to start manufacturing and distribution operations in an existing 20,000-square-foot facility in Park 100 industrial park on the city's northwest side.

A subsidiary of the Italy-based TAJMAC Group, ZPS plans to begin hiring management and business development associates immediately to begin providing consulting and customer support services. The company will phase in repair and manufacturing of CNC lathes at its facility in 2009.

"Indianapolis quickly became the ideal destination for our American headquarters because of its centralized location and the availability of a skilled workforce," said Olaf Tessarzyk, president and managing partner of ZPS America. "The ability to register as a Free Trade Zone and the city's new airport terminal were also important factors in our decision. Since we will be doing business all across North America we wanted our customers to have easy access and a positive first impression."

Founded in 1903 for the production of shoe machinery, ZPS was acquired by the TAJMAC Group in 2000. Today, the company employs more than 1,200 associates globally and sells its CNC lathes around the world.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered ZPS America LLC, up to $250,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $25,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The City of Indianapolis will consider property tax abatement.
