EMTEC Announces Wind Supply Chain Workshop for Ohio Manufacturers
Friday, August 15, 2008 - Article #1159

Dayton, OH: The Edison Materials Technology Center (EMTEC), the Edison Welding Institute (EWI), and the Great Lakes Wind Network™ (GLWN) are collaboratively conducting a half-day Wind Supply Chain Workshop for Ohio manufacturers interested in learning about new business opportunities in the rapidly expanding supply chain serving the wind energy markets. The workshop to be held at Miami University would be of particular value for Ohio manufacturers interested in producing power electronics, control systems, hydraulics, fasteners, brakes, blades, nacelles, or supplemental equipment for the wind industry such as ladders, elevators, hoists, fire suppression, lighting, or meteorological equipment. Additionally Ohio companies involved in foundry, forge, machine shop, or fabricating plants should have particular interests in the opportunities presented at this workshop. The workshop will discuss current global trends driving the market demand for key components in an already sold-out supply chain as well as the kinds of components and requirements needed by OEMs.

The Wind Supply Chain Workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Miami University in Room 102 Benton Hall, 650 E. High Street, Oxford, OH. Registration begins at 8:00 AM and cost for the event is $30 per person. Advanced registration is requested and can be coordinated through Ms.
